The 2022-2024 three-year project "Preistoria e Inclusività Digitale", realised with the contribution of Fondazione CR Firenze, allows the public to consult the archival heritage of the IIPP easily. The free and easy access to the historical and scientific digital contents about Prehistory intends to encourage digital inclusiveness through languages and themes of wide interest. The project consists of enhancing the batch of images relating to African prehistoric art (paintings, engravings, original reliefs). Paolo Graziosi carried out 20 scientific research missions in Africa: the first campaign in Libya dates back to 1933, in the Fezzan region, where he returned in 1938, 1939 and then again in 1962, in March-April 1967 and finally in May-June 1968. Many of the expeditions made between 1933 and 1972 were dedicated to prehistoric studies of vast territories in the Horn of Africa (Somalia, Eritrea and Ethiopia), an area that still today remains little known from the point of view of prehistoric studies.
